The recipient of this year’s CSEP Young Investigator Award is Dr. Vladimir Ljubicic.
Dr. Ljubicic has been an active Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) Member since joining as an undergraduate student in 1999. He is an alumnus of the School of Kinesiology and Health Science at York University, and he continued his training as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, at the University of Ottawa.
He has held the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Neuromuscular Plasticity in Health and Disease since 2014 and he is the Director of the Neuromuscular Biology Laboratory within the Exercise Metabolism Research Group at McMaster. His research focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of exercise biology in skeletal muscle, the neuromuscular junction, and motoneurons, as well as identifying therapeutic strategies for the most prevalent neuromuscular disorders in children and adults.
Join us at CSEP 2022 for his keynote talk on Exercise biology: movement, muscle, and molecules!
